Easter and Spring Cleaning

I hope you’ve had a happy Easter Sunday!  Mr. Handsome, our 2 pups, and I traipsed down to Pittsburgh to spend Easter Sunday with some of our most dear friends (who seem more like family than friends).  It was so wonderful!  I took a Carrot Cake and some Hot Cross Buns, and everyone loved them!!  I absolutely love baking for lots of people, which I don’t get to do very often!  We also got to see our friends’ baby, who is now 2 years old, but Hubby delivered that little girl in his 4th year of medical school (so she is extra special)!  We could not believe how much she had grown in the past year!

On a different note, we have been cleaning our house out.  Since we got married and moved in together, Mr Hubby has tons of toys (in fact, all of them since he was a child, on up to ones he has purchased more recently as a collector), so it has been a long and (sometimes) painful process of going through them and getting rid of about 90% of them.  I have been so proud of him- now we can make room for a home office AND a man cave!

I, on the other hand, don’t collect as much stuff, but after we got married, all of the wedding stuff just went into boxes and straight into one of our guest bedrooms.  Needless to say, it’s not exactly useable at this point (thank goodness we’ve got a couple of guest rooms!).  I have started going through the boxes and boxes of wedding stuff, and I have (reluctantly) started tossing out the extra programs, stationery, etc (but of course keeping a couple to scrapbook).  Some of the wedding stuff I could probably sell on Etsy or Ebay or something (like our centerpieces, the silver bells, etc.).  I am shocked at how much wedding stuff I have still.  I have pared it down to a singular box of wedding keepsakes, and I think I am satisfied with it.  (Lol!!)

It’s spring cleaning time at our house for sure, and our mantra right now is “out with the old, and in with the new,” so I will be showing antiques/re-uphostering projects that I have in the works.  Finally, a year and a half after we got married, I might be able to make this house function properly, lol!!  This wife needs my own wife to help out around the house since my workweeks are so crazy!
