Cereals

On call, again. Woof! Such a busy day, all I had time for was cereal for breakfast!  According to the SD book, high fiber whole grain cereals are the best.  Luckily, we’ve found some good whole wheat cereals!  There’s more out there than just Raisin Bran and Shredded Wheat (although I like those, too).  Here are some of the ones we’ve tried and liked:

Fiber One: original, honey clusters, raisin bran, caramel delight, and shredded wheat are all good & good for you!  My fave is to mix the original (just 60 calories per 1/2 cup with no sugar) with 1/2 cup of another type of cereal.  I also have tried their cereal bars, which are pretty good!

Kashi:  cinnamon harvest (my favorite right now), honey toasted oat, and blueberry clusters with oat flakes.  Several people I know like the go lean crunch varieties, but they’re not my fave.  Still, I would give them another try!  Kashi is my favorite brand of whole wheat cereals, crackers, cookies, etc!

Fiber Plus: Berry Yogurt Crunch, and Cinnamon Oat Crunch.  Both are delicious!  As far as Fiber cereal bars go, I like these better than Fiber One!

Honey Bunches: Just Bunches- it’s granola, and it’s soooo good.  We both love the cinnamon variety, too!

Since we don’t eat cereal for breakfast everyday on the SD, I actually kinda look forward to the cereal mornings.  That’s weird, isn’t it?  We add 1/2 cup of fruit to our cereal, too- and it’s so good!
