Banana Split Trifle

Woof- Chris & I are both sick as DOGS!!  I haven’t felt like cooking in a little while, but I made this easy & fantastic dessert last weekend for a party I hosted- I’ll write about that!

It tastes like sunshine!!  🙂

Banana Split Trifle
1 c. chopped pecans
1/2 tbsp. butter
1 carton heavy whipping cream
1 brick cream cheese
1/2 c. powdered sugar
2 small packages of lemon pudding
3 c. cold milk
1 c. raspberries
3-4 bananas, sliced
1 c. pineapple, chopped

In a small skillet, melt butter until light brown.  Add pecans & toast until fragrant.  Take off the heat & let cool thoroughly.  Let the cream cheese soften.

To your mixer, add the heavy whipping cream & whip on medium for several minutes, until it forms stiff peaks.  (Some people like to chill the mixing bowl first, and some people like to sweeten it with a little sugar).

In a medium bowl, add 1 cup of the fresh whipped cream, cream cheese, and powdered sugar; whip until creamy and smooth.

In another medium bowl, add the pudding mix and the milk and mix until smooth and creamy.

Layer the ingredients in a trifle bowl in this order from the bottom up:
1. whipped cream
2. lemon pudding
3. half of the cream cheese
4. whipped cream
5. bananas
6. most of the pecans
7. remainder of cream cheese
8. raspberries
9. whipped cream
10. pineapple
11. whipped cream
12. the rest of the pecans

Make sure to divide the whipped cream into 4 so that you have enough for the recipe!

  1. So sorry you don't feel well! It seems that a sickness has hit the Middleton household here, Mom, Dad, and I have all got it. Yuck! But the dessert sounds wonderful! 🙂
